In Search Of: TV Consoles for a Modern Living Room
It’s easy enough to find a high-gloss white media “lowboard” to hang your TV above. They’re everywhere. But what if you’re looking for something a bit different? I’ve been searching for TV consoles for a client’s modern and minimalist living room renovation and I’d love to share some of my finds with you. Not all of these are designed specifically to be media consoles, meaning not all of them have holes in the back for your cables to run through. There is no need to limit yourself to furniture that says “TV Console.” It’s a very simple job to have a handyman drill a hole in the back of a piece of furniture. It is of course important to think about how high you like your TV to be. And don’t forget to consider how much electronic equipment you have and whether you want it to be visible all the time or rather hidden behind closed doors. Have a look at these five finds and see what you think.
This is such a gorgeous combination of wood and gold! Perfect for someone who loves simple styles and a dash of gold, but nothing too flashy.
Such a simple light oak TV console would be great in a Scandinavian or industrial chic living room.
If you’re looking for a piece that is high on quality and gorgeous in its mid-century design, Bolia has you covered. This sideboard has two sliding doors and three drawers. It would be a great piece to get a lot of storage out of one piece of furniture.
If you are tight on space, this is such a beauty and only 102 cm wide. The two doors with such a fun graphic effect open to a shelf inside. Just don’t hang a huge TV over such a small console. As a general rule, your console should be wider than your TV.
I am currently loving the combination of grey and dark wood. This console could work just as easily under your TV as it could in your dining room. Ample drawers and doors means lots of storage.
